Burner: Second Phone Number App Reviews

While the app seems fine, I WAS DOUBLE BILLED when I signed up. Neither Apple nor this app has refunded my DOUBLE billed money!

This service works almost as well as the texting service provided by your cellular phone company. And it has much more compatibility than Google Voice; it works with most services that Ive tried (though a few will still reject any VoIP number). And it can receive MMS/picture messages and send them too (for a fee). The app, on the other hand, has a few rough edges. Notably, trying to position the insert cursor, doesnt show you the text as you move, leaving you to guess where the cursor will land. Also, renewal reminders are hit or miss. Sometimes youll get reminded that your burner is about to expire; sometimes you wont. And even when it works, it may only give you an hour or two advance warning. Too bad for you if youre busy when that happens. Expired Burners disappear and take your number and all your messages along with them. Other than that, the service is great for times that you dont want to use your permanent, identifiable cellular phone number. And its reasonably priced.

To create a "burner" for texts, calls, etc you have to pay and use credits. There is no "burner" functionality that is free.

Only downloaded and used even after I realized you have to pay for it now because I was pressured into giving my number to some dude. Useful in that situation but $2 for an hour of calling? Maybe would have been better if the dude wanted to text me for eons...

I absolutely love this app. If anyone ever calls me, and I dont know who they are I can call them back using this app and either talk to them or tell them to stop prank calling people. Love this app!

The beastttt app

YouTube requires you to verify via phone before you can even log on now, and I didnt want to use my own number. This app is a lifesaver.

This app is exactly what i needed and the "burner" angle of it instead of all the other "secret" type of Angle is so much cooler. Cheating and lying is wack this is for the real hustlers who deal with people all day making cake for their family, big ups to the developers of this amazing app.

Which it does most of the time, but sometimes today it sends recurring confirmation messages, then refuses to work. Dont use if you need 99.99% reliable. Ok for 95% reliable.

I love this app!!! So convenient, easy, its like having 2 phones in one.

Install and use is cinchy, additional credits are very reasonably priced...so much less hassle than having a second phone!!!

Use it for work as Im a car salesman and I dont want my customers having my personal number.
